Step-By-Step Pressing Instructions

Position Your Patch:

Place your patch on the desired area of the hat, facing upwards, and secure it with Thermal Tape (heat-resistant tape).

Load Hat Onto Hotronix® 360 IQ™ Hat Press:

With the patch taped in place, load your hat onto the press. Position the hat with the brim pointing upwards, fitting it around the lower platen as if the lower platen is wearing the hat. Lay a protective guard sheet over the patch and tape it into place to prevent heat damage during pressing

Press:

Set the top platen heat to 280°F and the bottom platen heat to 320°F. Manually input your desired pressure settings on the front screen of the Hotronix® 360 IQ™ Hat Press, aiming for medium pressure (4-6 on a scale from 1-9). Set the timer for 45 seconds. Lower the top platen to lock the hat into place and start the pressing process. Once the 45 seconds are complete, lift the top platen and allow the hat to cool for 30 seconds. This cooling period helps the melted glue to solidify, ensuring the patch bonds firmly to the hat.

For Hat Presses with Top Platen Heat Only:

When using a hat press with top platen heat only, set the temperature to 340°F and press for 45 seconds with hard pressure. This will ensure the low-melt glue on the back of your patch melts properly, adhering the patch to the hat without requiring bottom platen heat.

Note: For silicone patches, both top and bottom heat are REQUIRED for correct adhesion. Using only top heat will burn the silicone, even with a Teflon sheet covering it.
